Four small squares are set up so that together they form one large square. The players position themselves with balls as shown in the diagram at the top end between the cones.
Procedure
Players E + D start simultaneously in parallel. Both dribble with the ball to the middle cone gate. As soon as they start dribbling, B and A respectively sprint diagonally and try to prevent the oncoming player from dribbling to the other side. If the defending player wins the ball, he immediately tries to dribble to the opposite side, and the attacker becomes the defender. Afterward, all players line up on the opposite side.
Tip
- Defensive challenge (winning the ball is the top priority! Do not just kick the ball away.) - Position the body so the opponent is pushed away from goal toward the outside. Close down the path to the end line. Stand sideways, offer one side; lure the opponent where you want him; then push the body in between to win the ball. - Stand on the balls of the feet, not on the whole foot. - Try to reduce the opponent's speed. (This buys time for the other defenders in a real game.) - Offensive challenge When possible, approach the opponent at maximum speed. At slower speeds, try to use a body feint. - 9 cones
