Set up the cones as shown in the diagram. The players distribute evenly at the two outer cones. The balls are placed at the outer cones.
Procedure
Player B starts a dribble at maximum speed through the cone gate. Once he has passed through, player A may challenge him and tries to win the ball. If A wins the ball, he tries to dribble to the other side. After the challenge is finished, both players switch sides. Parallel to B and A, players D and C start the drill, with D dribbling and being challenged by C. The players switch positions with their partner after each round.
Tip
Offensive behaviour: - Tight ball control. Accelerate immediately when starting the dribble and dribble at high speed toward the opponent. - Either, aided by the high tempo, simply push the ball past the side of the opponent, or use a feint. Defensive behaviour: - Attack the ball carrier as quickly as possible. - Slow down 2-3 metres beforehand and position yourself offset to the side. - Force the dribbler to the side and try to slow down the attacker's tempo. - Try to turn the shoulder into the opponent. - The goal is to win the ball in the 1v1. - 5 cones
