Sprint with run coordination and passing game

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Put up a starting and a goal cone. Two more cones mark the position of the player and that of the sprint direction change. A hurdle course is set up behind the starting cone. The players line up one after the other at the starting cone. A player goes to the player's cone. The balls are at the player's cone. There should be no more than 8 players per station.

Procedure

The player sprints to the hurdles either through skipping (2 forward, 1 back, 1 forward) or with side steps. Then he continues to sprint towards the player with whom he plays a double pass. Then he sprints around the next cone and on to the ending cone. As soon as the player has left the hurdle station, the next player starts.

Tip

- Skipping => short, quick movements on the footpads (not on the whole foot). The heels shoud not touch the floor, the legs / arms are angled and swing with the natural counter-movement (right arm / left foot). The upper body is bent forward. Short contact with the ground, top speed. - Sidesteps forwards / backwards => In the lateral running direction, the legs are moved apart and brought together in parallel, the arms swing in synch with the leg movement. - After the passing game, the players make an explosive 90 degree turn and go into the sprint. - The aim is to train perception, anticipation, reaction and the beginning, paired with game-appropriate techniques. - Pay attention to sharpness and accuracy when passing. - The sprint is started in step position on the footpads. At the beginning, the upper body is bent far forward, the center of gravity is at waist level, the view goes down. After applying pressure on the Footpads, the upper body is gradually raised, the gaze rises and the cadence increases. The arms are actively moved alternately with the leg movement (the right leg goes forward, the left arm goes forward and vice versa). After the first 3-4 steps on the footpads, the entire foot is rolled (heel-> sole-> footpad), the upper body is upright and calm, the step frequency increases to the maximum. - 4 cones, 2 hurdle (s)
