Using different training equipment (cones, rings, hurdles, benches), a dribbling course is set up as shown in the diagram. The players line up with a ball at the lower left cone in front of station I.
Procedure
Station I: Slalom dribbling with the right/left inside of the foot. Station II: Wall pass off a bench. Station III: Inside slalom with the right/left inside of the foot. Station IV: Chip shot off the bench. Station V: Ball control through the course. Play the ball through the cone gate, run around the cone gate without the ball on the outside, then circle the next inside cone with the ball, and so on. Station VI: Slalom dribbling through the cone course, alternating with the right/left outside of the foot. Station VII: Pass the ball to the yellow cone and jump over the mini hurdles using high knees or optionally side steps/side skipping. Then immediately sprint to station VIII. Station VIII: Move through the rings in the direction of the arrow with two foot contacts in each ring (lateral, forward, or backward skipping or side skipping). All at maximum speed. Then sprint around the red cone to the yellow cone. Pick up the ball and dribble to station I.
Tip
- Run on the balls of the feet, not on the whole foot. - Light, nimble footwork, no stomping or pounding. - All drills are performed with a ball. - Quick, tight ball control. - The upper body is slightly leaning forward at the start of the dribble. When stopping andnpulling the ball back, it straightens slightly. - Do not lean backward. - The arms are bent at the elbow and move alongside the body following the normal arm swing while running/walking. - The ball is touched only lightly ("gently"). A feel for the ball must be developed. - The eyes should regularly be lifted from the ball (alternating between looking at the ball and looking ahead). - Keep the tempo high. - As many ball contacts as possible. - The passes off the benches must be timed precisely. - 4 ring(s), 30 cones, 4 hurdle(s)
