Four cone squares are set up on the field according to the diagram. Three players go into each of the four cone squares. Each player has a ball.
Procedure
The teams have different technical tasks to perform in each square. On the coach's signal, they switch to the next square with the next new technical task by dribbling at speed along the designated paths. The groups' paths alternate between diagonal and vertical (see arrows in diagram).n Suggestions for assigning technical tasks in the squares: - White square: Various feints (e.g., step-over or pirouette). - Red square: Juggling (e.g., 2x foot, then 2x thigh, etc.). - Yellow square: Different ball-handling techniques (e.g., dribbling only with the right inside or only with the sole of the foot). - Blue square: Coordination exercises with ball (e.g., chip the ball up and receive it with the inside of the foot).
Tip
- Constantly demand concentration, accuracy, and speed. - Demonstrate the individual exercises in front of the group first. Then let the players imitate what they saw and provide error correction and detailed technical instructions. - Constantly correct mistakes so that incorrect habits do not develop. - Always have exercises performed with both feet. - Emphasise the accentuated execution of body feints. - Cone squares should be approached at speed. - 16 cones
