The goalkeeper stands in the goal. The goalkeeper coach (GC) stands with balls approx. 6 m from the post on the end line.
Procedure
The GC throws a high ball to the goalkeeper at the edge of the 6-yard box. The goalkeeper comes toward the ball as quickly as possible and catches it at the highest possible point. 5-6 repetitions. Then switch sides.
Tip
- The ball should be caught at the highest point. - The arms must be extended. - The goalkeeper takes off with one leg and tucks the other leg (for protection). - Pull the ball to the chest as quickly as possible. - Start on the balls of the feet. - Take short steps. - The goalkeeper stands facing the ball 1-2 m centrally in front of the goal. - His legs are parallel and slightly bent at the knees. The upper body is slightly angled forward, the arms are at the sides of the body and slightly bent at the elbows (the body posture resembles that of a cowboy just before drawing his gun from the holster). - To calculate/judge the flight path, the goalkeeper reacts only after the ball has been struck. - If the ball cannot be caught, it is punched away to the side with both fists (or possibly with just one fist). - To generate momentum for a one-armed punch, swing the hand/fist dynamically from back-low to forward-high. - 1 full-size goal(s)
