Tossing the ball up through the legs from behind and catching it sideways.

Setup

Goalkeeper with ball.

Procedure

The goalkeeper places himself in a wide legged position. (legs are approx.50-70cm apart). He bends forwards with the ball in his hands, and throws the ball laterally backwards through his legs then he quickly turns and catches it before the ball hits the ground.

Tip

- At the starting position the torso is bent forwards.\n- The legs are bent (crouching position)\n- Whilst throwing the ball up, the weight goes slightly onto the balls of the feet.\n- After tossing the ball up the goalkeeper turns in an explosive yet smooth fashion with his torso to the side.\n- The turning movement originates through a turning in the hips.\n
