Transition Game Form from 1 vs 0 to 5 vs 4

Setup

  • Cones to mark the playing field
  • 2 goals
  • Divide into teams of 5 players

Procedure

  • The exercise starts with a 1:0 scenario leading to a shot on goal (no follow-up shots allowed).
  • Immediately after, 2 opposing players with a ball start a 2:1 situation into the field.
  • After each ball out of play or goal, alternately 2 players from each team enter the field, progressing to a 5:4 game. Then, a short break.
  • In the next round, the other team starts the exercise.

Tip

Coaching Points

  • Utilize the numerical advantage to quickly combine and dribble through.
  • Immediate transition is required.
  • Defenders try to cover the space.
