Three cones are set up as indicated. The starting cone with the ball is double/multi-occupied; one player stands at each of the other cones.
Procedure
A plays a one-two with Player B (1+2) and then passes diagonally to Player C (3). C plays a one-two with B (4+5) and then passes the ball diagonally to Cone II (i.e., Player A, who has run there). Now the same sequence repeats. Running paths: - Player A runs to Cone II - B runs to Cone III - Player C switches to Cone I Positions are rotated clockwise! Alternative: After half the time, a direction change occurs, i.e., the sequence then runs counterclockwise.
Tip
First practise the passing exercise slowly, then increase the passing tempo. The players expecting the ball always make a preparatory movement. A dynamic side or backward hop step before coming toward the pass. The exercise is extremely running-intensive when performed quickly with only four players. - Under time pressure, a very demanding, game-realistic passing game is required. - Players expecting the ball call for it verbally. - Pass timing and start timing are critical. - Players often run faster than they pass. - Don't forget the running path. - Demand pass sharpness and accuracy. - Accuracy before speed. - Concentration must be maintained. - 3 cones
