  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

• Set up a triangle with cones or dummies.
• Divide into equally sized groups around the dummies.

Procedure

A passes to B. B receives the ball in an open position. At the same time, C detaches from their dummy and is then played by B in an open position. C receives the ball, goes into a dribble at pace, and uses a feint to get past the last dummy. All players move one position further.

Variant 1: A passes to B, who sets it back to A. A plays the ball into the path of B. B passes the ball to C, who also sets it back. B plays the ball into the path of C. C receives the ball, goes into a dribble at pace, and uses a feint to get past the last dummy. All players move one position further.

Variant 2: Similar to Variant 1, but in this case, player B plays the ball directly into the path of C.

Tip

Coaching Points

• Play the ball to the front foot.
• Receive the ball directly into your movement.
• Sharp passing.
• After the feint, execute a change of pace.
Variations 1 and 2:
• Let the ball bounce with your non-dominant foot.
• After the bounce, make an explosive sprint to get past the dummy.
• Pass the ball to the front foot or the path of your teammate without them having to slow down or deviate from the ideal path.
