Tuck jumps + spin and shot on goal

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

The goalkeeper stands on the goal line; the goalkeeper coach (GC) with balls is at the penalty spot.

Procedure

The goalkeeper stands on the goal line with their back to the GC and performs 3-5 tuck stretch jumps, touching the crossbar with their hands each time. After the last jump, they turn to face the GC and react to the shot. Intensity: 4-6 repetitions.

Tip

- Tuck jumps: Through a powerful, two-footed takeoff, the knees/thighs are pulled to the chest. The arms are bent and go into the wind-up motion. The upper body is upright. Landing is on the balls of the feet. After a short ground contact time, the next jump follows immediately. - Quick 90-degree turn to face the GC. - If possible, just before the GC strikes the ball, the goalkeeper makes a small two-footed hop or a short step forward. The arms are spread to the sides, slightly bending at the knees, standing on the balls of the feet. The feet point toward the coach and are about hip-width apart; the upper body leans slightly forward and the eyes track the ball. - The body must always be brought behind the ball during the save. - During the save, the goalkeeper must never fall backward, always forward. - Lateral offset jumps (skier jump/movement): With a slightly forward-leaning upper body, the player jumps sideways forward alternating between the right and left leg (right leg to the front right, left leg to the front left). It is important that the takeoff and landing are on the balls of the feet. The arms swing supportively. When the plant foot lands, the other leg is bent (no ground contact). The gaze is directed forward. - 1 full-size goal(s)
