A goalkeeper and three field players position themselves on the field according to the diagram. The two blue players act as defenders, the red player as the attacker. The attacker has the ball.
Procedure
The ball-carrying attacker runs toward defender B. He alternately fakes a dribble to the right and to the left. Player A covers player B by mirroring the lateral direction changes of C. If player B is beaten, defender A immediately closes down player C and B covers A's back as quickly as possible, in turn following the lateral direction changes of player A.
Tip
- At the beginning, the forward should run toward the defenders at a moderate pace to give them as many opportunities as possible to coordinate their running patterns. - The distance between the back defender and the front one should always be approximately 5 metres. - If the first defender is beaten, the back defender closes down the attacker. About 2-3 metres before him he slows down, comes to a stop and in a laterally offset backpedal matches the attacker's pace. - 1 full-size goal(s)
