Two Defenders vs. Three Attackers

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players

Setup

A goalkeeper, two defenders (blue), and three attackers (red) are positioned on the cone-marked field as shown in the diagram. The attackers have the ball.nnn

Procedure

The attackers attempt to beat the defenders and get a shot on goal using various attacking methods such as quick passing combinations, overlapping runs, crossing runs, through balls, dribbles, and one-twos. The two defenders must prevent this through clever tactical shifting and aggressive tackling. The offside rule applies.

Tip

- The two defenders always act as a unit and must not get too far apart. - The goal is either to win possession or to force the ball carrier into a non-dangerous area to the side and block his passing lane toward goal/to teammates by double-teaming. - 5 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
