Variable Square Game

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players

Setup

A square is set up with 4 cones. Two cones are double-occupied, and one player stands at each of the other two cones. One player positions himself in the centre of the square.

Procedure

6 players, 2 balls + target player in the centre. The passing pattern is performed with at least five players and two balls simultaneously; seven players are optimal. The passers now have numerous variation options and freely decide where to play. In the centre of the square stands a target player with whom a give-and-go can be played and who freely decides where to bounce the ball. All cones must always be occupied by players. The running paths are also to be chosen individually (situationally) depending on the pass and game situation. As much as possible, a run to a different cone should follow each pass.

Tip

- The focus is on fast, constantly changing, and creative passing and running play. - This game demands high attention and simultaneously develops football intelligence. - Constantly new game situations arise, always new game openings with a constantly new situation for the required game awareness. - Anticipation, perception, reaction, as well as movement and action speed with and without the ball are enormously trained. - 4 cones
