A goal is set up on each end of the field with a goalkeeper in each. 6 field players are positioned as shown in the diagram. On the right and left, two players stand 10 metres apart, and at the level of the penalty area / between the midfield and penalty arc, there is one striker each. The remaining players position themselves beside the goals. The balls are beside the goals.
Procedure
The attacking variation begins with a pass from B into the run of player A (1). A redirects the ball directly to the right wing to the overlapping player B (2). B crosses the ball at full speed into the penalty area (3). Player A and striker I cross and try to finish with a first-time volley. Players B and A position themselves beside the goal on the blue side. Following the action, the blue players execute the same play in the opposite direction.
Tip
- The pass should be played into the path of the player expecting the ball. - The passer must observe the run of the receiving player. - Players A or I try to finish near goal with a volley. - The strikers cross toward the near and far post. - When crossing, it is important that the players start moving after the second-to-last pass and just before the crosser's backswing, explosively switch positions at sprint speed. - The crossing players / attackers must not start too early. - 2 full-size goal(s)
