Wing play / flanks XVII

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 10-15 players, 16-22+ players

Setup

A goal is placed on the head of the field, into which a goalkeeper positiones himself. 8 field players are positioned on the field according to the graphic. Two players each go to the left / right outer lane at a distance of 10-15 meters from each other. The two strikers take their positions 10 meters apart, at the level of the penalty area. The rest of the players line up in pairs behind players B and C. The balls are in the center circle.

Procedure

The game form begins with a diagonal pass from C to A (1), which bounces directly to I (2). B now plays diagonally into the course of player H (3). H uses the ball played by B by flanking it in full swing in front of the goal (4). Player A runs behind E, who positions himself on the left edge of the box. At the same time as the pass from B to H, players B, C and D start towards the goal in the back area. Shortly before the flank by player H, the two strikers I and J start towards the goal. Their paths cross at the level of the penalty area. All players try to use the flank. Then the players go back to their starting positions and at B and C the next two players move up.

Tip

- The strikers cross towards the first and second posts. - When crossing, it is important that the players start moving after the penultimate pass and explosively change positions shortly before the flank movement takes place at sprint speed. - The crossing players or attackers shouldn't start too early. - Make sure that the rehearsed movement patterns lead to a fast, fluid overall movement. - The gaze should be released from the ball regularly (changing gaze towards the ball and towards the front). - The player expecting the pass makes a short counter-movement at the same time as the pass-out movement. - The pass should be played in the path of the ball-awaiting starter. - The pass player must observe the path of the player waiting for the ball. - 1 large field goal (s)
