Crosses from the touch line and halfway line

  • Organisation

    5 players, of which 3 are crossers and 2 are strikers. The goalkeeper is in the goal. The balls are with the crossers. The crossers are positioned approx. 25-30 Meters from the goal and the two central attackers are 16 Meters from goal.
  • Process

    The crossers cross balls into the penalty area from differing distances, which the two strikers should meet after crossing their runs. The goalkeeper tries to either intercept the crosses directly or to fend off the strikers’ efforts. The different positions of the wide players are: (1) From the touchline (2) From the mid-position (3) From the byline Learning Aid: 1 Full size goal
  • Tip

    - The goalkeeper stands facing the crosser. He stands centrally 2-3 m in front of the goal. - Each time he has to predict, whether he can intercept the ball in the air, before the strikers arrive to the ball or whether he stays on his line and await the strikers’ actions. -If he decides to rush out, he has to try to catch or punch the ball away at its highest point. - The goalkeeper moves to the direction of the ball from the center of the goal and jumps with arms stretched out above him and catches the ball at its highest point. The push-off leg is stretched out, the other leg is bent and pulled into the body.
