Juggling in a box + Volley-Shot at Goal

  • Organisation

    Setup one or more boxes with a goal 15-20 meters from each box. One ball per player.
  • Process

    One player juggles in each box. The remaining players spread themselves out over the other boxes and wait for their go. After a given number of touches, or after the call from the coach, the players volley the ball from their box into the goal and leave the box to collect their ball. The next player enters the box and starts the same sequence again.
  • Tip

    - Various juggling/combinations can be used (e.g. juggling only with the laces; alternating foot/knee; step juggling (1 x right, 1 x left, 2 x right, 2 x left etc.). - To ensure that the drill runs fluidly, it is advisable to setup several boxes, depending upon the size of the group. - The exercise can also be set up in the form of a competition - every player has to count how many goals he scores. The coach can also implement the rule that a player is not allowed to take a shot if his ball falls to the ground. The players should complete a set number of drills. - The players’ upper body should be slightly bent forwards when volleying the ball which should be struck at a low point (not too high). Only in this way can the players control correctly and put the right weight on the ball.
