COE (SA) - Isolated Technical: Striking

  • Organisation

    SETUP:

    - Passing gates with tall cones/witch-hat cones about 3-5m apart (dependent on player ability)

    - Use disc cone to indicate recieving area 6-10m apart

    - Players in pairs 

    - 1 pair/gate

    - Multiple gates necessary

  • Process

    OBJECTIVE

    Improve ball feeling and accuracy when striking the ball 

     

    PROCEDURE:

    -Players in pairs working on designated striking technique

    - Start with striking a dead ball

    - Finish with relay 

        -- How many passes can you complete in 45s

        -- Knocking central cone = reset

     

    VARIATIONS (choose 2-3):

    - Inside Foot

    - Laces/Low Driven

    - 1-touch

    - Curled (around gates) 

    - Laces, Sliced

    - Lofted


    PROGRESSIONS: 

    Striking moving ball

    P1:Postivie 1st Touch 

    P2: Back Foot Control

    P3: Front Foot Control

    P4: Outside Foot Control
