Four players (blue A and B defenders/ red C and D attackers) are positioned on the field according to the diagram. The ball is with player D.
Process
When completing the drill: The exercise starts with a pass from player C to player D, who immediately starts to dribble forward. Simultaneously player B breaks away from his defensive position and attacks player D. A moves into the defensive position of B. Directly after his pass to D, C overlaps D. D dribbles diagonally to the left in a central position. B stays with player D. A intersects behind B and orientates himself towards player C. As soon as the player is in the penalty area, the drill is over.
Tip
1 full-court goal(s), - In contrast to the exercise '2 on 2 - engage with handover' the defenders participate here in the attackers' changing of positions, as this drill takes place in a goal scoring area and 'handing over' can lead to a temporary shooting opportunity for the ball carrying attacker.
- This exercise is a dry run. No tackling takes place. The primary function of the exercise is the learning of paths in soccer.
- The exercise should be repeatedly trained as many times as possible (automation of movement sequences).
- A precise and powerful passing game should be paid attention to. - The start signal for the counter reaction is when the passer of the ball moves to pass.
- The lateral distance between the players at the starting position should consist of approximately 7-12m. The pair of players stand opposite each other with a distance of 15m between them.
