4v2 COD 3 gates (COE)

    6 gates (3 gates on each grid) 4m apart

    Cones, Markers, Balls, Bibs

  • Process

    - 4v2.

    - Coach plays ball in AT Team (Blue) deepest player.

    - AT Team scores by dribbling through one of the 3 gates in front.

    - If DF (Red) regains possession, looks to score by dribbling through any of the 3 gates on opposite end.

    - Center gates = 2 points.

    PROGRESSION: 

    P1 – 4v3

    P2 – 4v4

  • Tip

    OBJECTIVE:

    Offsetting a defender to beat them in the opposite direction 

    COACHING POINTS:

    Try to attack a goal on your first touch, quickly.

    If the player decides to change directions:

    1. Do not turn into the DF (hide the ball).
    2. Accelerate to get away from the DF.

    PLAYER TASK:

    If you want to change directions, can you initiate your turn so that you are always between the ball and the defender?

    Can you score as quickly as possible?
