Set up the cones as shown to make two trapezoids. More than one player starts at the first cone. One player at each of othe other cones. The ball is at the starting cone.
Process
Players A and E start at the same time so that the groups run simultaneously. A starts the sequence of passes with a cross-field bll to C, who lays the ball off to B. Player B then hits a cross-field pass to D. D plays a one-two with player C, but can be tackled by F. He then dribbles at speed back to the start position. Player F then goes back to his position. Player B plays the role of defender in the other group. After each pass, the players move on one cone in a clockwise direction. The cross-field pass can be played on the ground or in the air.
Tip
8 cones, - The receiver should always make a small, dynamic dummy run away from or to the side of the ball before receiving the ball.
- Hard, precise passes on the ground.
- When laying the ball off, lightly raise the foot.
- If the cross-field pass is played in the air, then the receiver must be able to lay the ball off with his first touch. I.e. The ball is hit precisely, not too hard no higher than the receiver's chest.
- Make sure that the passes take playce as simultaneously as possible in both groups so that the players who have left the group for a short time because of the one-two, can take up their positions again, in order to take part in the passing drill.
