8 vs. 6

  • Organisation

    • 1 goal (with a goalkeeper)

    • 4 mini-goals on the halfway line

    • Divide the players into two teams (Team 1: 8 players; Team 2: 6 players)

  • Process

    • The coach starts the drill by playing the ball in on the right wing (graphic)
    • Team Blue has 30 seconds to finish/ score
    • If the Blue team scores, the ball goes out of bounds, or the time is up, the coach plays in another ball and the next attack starts
    • If team Red wins the ball and scores on one of the four mini-goals, the Blue team is punished with push-ups, squats, or other strengthening exercises
  • Tip

    Team Blue:

    • Precise and powerful passes
    • Use the full width of the field
    • Search for runs (and balls) in behind
    • After losing the ball: Counterpress!

    Team Red:

    • Quick shifting towards ballside
    • Communication and coaching
    • Move up, active defending
    • Run fast counter attacks after having won the ball
